Now we come to our last day on vacation and this picture was actually taken when I was driving home. This is Morgan's Mill outside of Hardy,AR. What most do not know is a battle was fought here in the Civil War. Stopping here is a must. The main creek is behind the mill, not what you see in front of it. In the past you could go into the mill, but someone got hurt and now they have it locked.

Glad the mill still stands. Too bad you couldn't go inside though.
ReplyDeleteI would guess the stream in front in the picture is part of the mill race that, when the locks under the mill were opened, would power the mill. At least that's the way they work around here.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful mill and it looks like it might be on a historical register of some sort.
The mill and the creek looks nice, can't imagine there was a battle happened in this beautiful place.
